Iran’s tourism minister Ali-Asghar Mounesan has said Iran backs China’s initiative for reviving the glory of ancient Silk Road, which existed for thousands of years, passing through many different empires, kingdoms, reigns and societies throughout history.
Iran’s Mahan Air has launched direct flights connecting Tehran to Rome and Shenzhen, a major city in Guangdong province of China.
As of July 16, Chinese passport holders will no longer need visas to enter Iran. The privilege is valid for 15 days of stay in the Islamic Republic.
