Iran will hold cultural exhibitions in the 10 member states of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to mark the 40th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The exhibition of research tableaus on 'Common Culture and History in ECO Region' will be held in ECO member states, Mehr News Agency reported.

Morteza Rezvanfar, a faculty member of Research Center for Linguistics, Inscriptions and Texts of Today said the implementation of a project on studying Persian inscriptions in the world is the main objective of organizing this exhibition by ECO Cultural Institute (ECI).

Referring to an exhibition titled 'Iranian Mosques on the Silk Road' held on the sidelines of the Silk Road Conference in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, he added that the head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) had proposed the holding of the prestigious exhibition concurrent with the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in cooperation with ECO member states.

Some of the exhibitions will be held in tandem with organizing scientific meetings, he said, adding, "Research on common heritage of Iran and the world has been conducted within the framework of field study on China's eastern ports to East Africa and central Europe, displaying a wide spectrum of cultural and civilizational exchanges between Iran and the world."

ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization of 10 member states: Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, Turkey.

The organization was established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey to provide a platform for promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among member states.

The group was expanded in 1992 to include seven new members, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
