Iran to mark centenary of Tehran Music Conservatory

ran will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Tehran Music Conservatory on January 17 at Vahdat Hall in the Iranian capital.

The event will be preceded by a three-day live performances by the conservatory's alumni on January 12, 13 and 14, IRNA reported.

Tehran Conservatory of Music become independent from Dar ul-Funun school in 1918 and has trained many renowned Iranian instrumentalists.

Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Mojtaba Hosseini said that commemorating an art center reminds us of its great history.

A study of the history and past experiences can provide valuable insight into the bright future and ultimate success of such centers, he added.
